I've always had an abundance of energy; but unfortunately for many years it was used as a weapon rather than a resource. A bit like a pen, it can write beautiful poetry but it also has the ability to poke your eye out!
Growing up in a difficult family environment, I thought, gave me permission and an excuse to abdicate responsibility for my attitude and behaviour. After all, it's not our fault. We're a product of our environment aren't we? Well this is what I thought for many years. At the age of 18 I decided to run away from home. I thought that if I changed my environment I would automatically change. But history still repeated itself, different environment but same bad attitude.
I was fortunate and blessed enough to have some very special people (guardian angels) in my life that saw beneath my rebellious exterior and they recommended I attend a motivational workshop with them one evening. Reluctantly, even begrudgingly, I agreed to attend.
I still remember to this day the epiphany I had that evening. I realised that I was the common denominator; that it wasn't the environments that were creating my outcomes in my life, it was me!
"If it's going to be it's up to me" became my mantra.
This is where my transformational journey began.
I couldn't get enough of this new way of thinking and living as I studied and modeled the strategies of successful and fulfilled people. By the age of 21 I had opened my very own café and by 24 purchased my first home. I then went on to open a French restaurant (Remy's), a freelance training consultancy business (Paradigm Training), a training resource publishing business (Australian Training Essentials), a Nandos Chicken franchise, a Registered Training Organisation (Pinnacle Training Solutions) and most recently established Quantum Leap Corporation.
I believe that every one of us has the ability to make QUANTUM LEAPS; it's about taking a leap out the box of routine and habit and creating a dynamic and compelling vision and purpose for the future.
I'm living proof that success is not only for the "formally" educated. My journey has provided me with a Degree in Communicating, a Masters in Motivation and a PHD in Life and I've been privileged to have spent the past decade training and mentoring some of Australia's most well known corporations.
Not taking the traditional academic path to gain my knowledge and credentials has enabled me to be more holistic, eclectic and "real" in my communication style.
